Q: What should I bring to the hospital?
A: When you are admitted for delivery we will give you an overnight kit with toiletries. You will need to bring clothes and shoes to wear home. Be sure to bring a baby blanket and clothes for your baby to wear home. Consider bringing a special outfit for baby's first picture. Please leave jewelry and valuables at home. |
Q: Where do I go when I come to the hospital for delivery?
A: The Admitting Department is open Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 6:00pm and is located adjacent to the hospital lobby.
Your pre-registration information will be verified prior to escorting you to the Birthplace. Should you go into labor after regular business hours or during a weekend you will use the Emergency Department Entrance on the North side of the hospital.

Q: How long will I have to stay in the hospital?
A: Each mother has her own unique delivery experience; typically a vaginal delivery will stay 12 - 24 hours and a Cesarean section delivery will stay 2 - 3 days. |
Q: Can we have visitors while in the hospital?
A: Provided the visitor is without cold or flu; visiting hours in the Birthplace are scheduled from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. The baby's father can visit anytime. The visitation policy for children is dependent upon guidelines recommended by the CDC. Please verify visitation from children with your nurse. |
Q: Does the Tulare Regional Medical Center offer newborn photography services?
A: Yes, we use a contracted photographer. Photographs are taken the day you and your baby go home with no obligation to purchase a photograph. We also post the photo on the "Meet Our Babies" section of our website. |
Q: How can my family and friends see a photo of my baby?
A: Have them log onto TulareRegional.org and go to "Meet Our Babies" on the home page. For security purposes, individuals interested in seeing your newborn will only be able to do so if they know two required fields of requested information. |
